Pneumodromic Valves The Pneumodromic valve is called such because it is actuated in either direction solely by pneumatic pressure. Significant energy savings are provided by having no springs in the valve train, and no camshaft, rocker arms, or cam followers. This system requires an onboard computer to manage the time, duration, and lift of each valve in each cylinder, and can do so without linking mechanically one valve’s movement with another. Cylinders can therefore be managed differently from each other; a cylinder could be taken out of the power process when not needed, and no compression need occur. Read More |
